Leadership Development

Often managers and supervisors are promoted, not for their leadership skills, but rather as a reward for performing well at their jobs. In addition, changing demands are placed upon managers at all levels of the organization as the composition, structure, climate and culture of their organizations change constantly. Applying formulaic "autocratic, laissez-faire or participative" management styles has been replaced by the recognition that managers must adapt their styles to each particular situation. Situational Leadership helps managers evaluate their own leadership tendencies and their employees' readiness and skill sets in order to adapt their own leadership styles to particular employees and situations.
